How To Register or Renew NEMSA Certificate

You should submit your online application to the Nigeria Electricity Management Agency (NEMSA) through their official website if you want to apply for the electrical installation contractor certificate of corporations.

However, the corporation must first select a contractor to finish the application.

Licenses for electricians normally expire every year or every two years. The same candidate may apply for renewal two (2) years after the NEMSA certificate has been issued.

  2. Fill out “Form C” for Corporate Organization by selecting the Electrical Installation Contractors Certification Portal link.
  3. You can now select the company’s location and submit it online.
  4. Pay the processing fee of 2,000.00 (Two Thousand Naira) using Remitta.
  5. The candidate is encouraged to print the online application form and the materials indicated below together.

Documents To Submit For Registration

This documentation must be manually submitted in the State where the company is located at the NEMSA Area Office:

  • A photocopy of the candidate’s credentials and the company profile
  • Candidate’s Passport Photograph (4 Copies, white background).

Your application number and confirmation of its successful submission will be included in the notification you get as the candidate. Moreover, your email address will be used to notify you.

The date of the exam or interview will be communicated to the candidate. He or she is required to show up for the interview with their original credentials, the company’s profile, and documentation of their time spent working for them, such as an employment letter or an identification card.

You will take a written competency test and an oral interview with the certification panel on the examination date.

After the exams and oral interview, you will then be informed of the exam results.

If you pass the exams, you must pay the competency certificate fee through the TSA no later than one week after being notified.

The amount of ₦50,000.00 (Fifty Thousand Naira) is due from the successful candidate as certification fees.

The competency certificate will be processed and sent to you after NEMSA receives your payment, which will take around a month.

You will now be able to get your NEMSA certificate. The issued certificate can be renewed by the same Candidate by submitting an application for renewal after two (2) years.

The certificate cannot be transferred and expires the moment the candidate quits or leaves the Organization.

NEMSA Inspection Fees

Here are the Nigerian Electricity Management Services Agency’s inspection costs:


  • The daily rate of ₦80.00 for an indoor space of 3,283.00
  • The daily cost is ₦65.00 for 14,685.17 of paved outside space.

Port Harcourt

  • The cost per day is 80.00 for 1,419.00 of indoor space.
  • The daily rate of ₦65.00 for outdoor paved of 2,159.00
  • The daily rate ₦60.00 for outdoor unpaved of 10,683.00


  • The daily rate ₦80.00 for an indoor space of 2,868.70
  • The daily rate of ₦65.00 for outdoor paved of 3,283.00
  • The daily cost for unpaved outdoor space is N60.00.
