The basic role of the school is to provide qualitative education for children of serving and retired NN Personnel, other Services, and civilians.

It is, however, important to note that the school only provides boarding facilities for girls, which means boys can only be admitted as day students.

NNSS Ojo follows the regular Nigerian Secondary School Curriculum & Calendar and is currently a registered centre for WAEC.

2. Nigerian Navy Secondary School, Abeokuta

The Nigerian Navy Secondary School Abeokuta (NSS Abeokuta) is so far the best Navy secondary school situated in Ogun State, Nigeria.

NNSS Abeokuta was established in 1990 while full academic activities began on 2nd March 1991 to provide a teaching and learning environment for students to attain academic excellence at both JSS and SSS levels.

And again, to imbibe the spirit of leadership and self-discipline in students through basic naval drills, participation in the management of clubs and societal organizations, hostel, and classroom

3. Nigerian Navy Secondary School, Port Harcourt

The Nigerian Navy Secondary Schoo in Port Harcourt was established on the 6th of April 1994 and is located at Harold Wilson Drive in Borokiri, an old suburb, 4.1 km from Port Harcourt metropolis, the capital of Rivers State.

Just like NNSS Abeokuta, NNSS Port Harcourt is run as a full-time boarding school. However, it provides room for both male and female prospective candidates.

Lastly, NNSS Port Harcourt also follows the regular school calendar and curriculum assigned by the Nigerian Federal Ministry of Education.

4. Nigerian Navy Secondary School, Ogbomosho

NNSS Ogbomoso is a Navy Secondary School established in the 2012/2013 academic session and located at Iresa-Asa, Ogbomoso, Oyo State. It is situated 49.2km away from Oyo, 90.5km from Ibadan, and 50.2 km from Ilorin.

The school has equipped modern laboratories, and adequate staff as well as well-equipped sickbay to cater to the medical needs of the students and staff.

Again, with a combination of well-trained naval personnel and carefully selected, highly committed civilian staff, the school instils the spirit of leadership and self-discipline in students through basic naval drills and participation in the management of clubs and societal organizations.

5. Nigerian Navy Secondary School, Calabar

NNSS Calabar was established on the 4th of August 2006 and is located at Ikot Offiong Ambai Village of Akpabuyo LGA of Cross River State, opposite the Nigerian Police Secondary School.

The Nigerian Navy Secondary School Calabar academic activities are for boarding students, to mould the youths to be responsible citizens of Nigeria and provide qualitative education for secondary school-aged children.
